We are so excited about Amy Butler's designs for Chandra Rugs! Combining a modern approach to botanical, geometric and romantic inspirations, Amy Butler's spirited collection of rugs is truly divine. The Modern Love rug is a fun rush of organic floral motifs with a modern and lavish character. Heavily sculpted shapes weave about the pattern created a bold mix of grey, green and blue hues.
About the Designer:
Amy Butler is known for her use of spirited color and confident combinations of print, and she has created a freshened view of the many product categories for which she now designs. Amy is a fabric, home, fashion and print designer. As a sewing pattern designer, she has brought modern styling to the sewing arts and ispired a new generation of young women to "find their own style." Amy's growing brand has becomes synonymous with creativity, sustainability, quality and great style.
About the Rug Construction:
Hand-tufted, these luxuriously resilient rugs are all hand-made in India using 100% New Zealand Wool. Rugmakers contruct each piece by pushing wool through a backing, creating a looped tuft on the face of the rug. The tufts are then glued in place from behind and finished with another two layers of cloth to create a strong, protective backing. After the rug is constructed, rugmakers use special scissors to shear the tops of the tufts to create the textured pile that makes these rugs so detailed. This process can take a three rugmakers (working together) an entire day. Chandra Rugs does not use harsh chemical washes. Construction of these rugs is completed by using safe chrome dyes and natrual latex adhesive.
